About CCA#

NUSSU Committee for Information Technology (commIT) is a constituent club under NUS Student Union (NUSSU) focusing on Information Technology (IT). NUSSU commIT aims to prepare the NUS community for the future by equipping them with the necessary IT skills. Consequently, we provide IT services to the NUS community at our computer centers located at YIH and AS8 as well as free training workshops each semester.

Benefits of joining commIT:

  1. There’s always a place for you. commIT has 6 different teams that you can choose to join: Technical, Training, Marketing, Publicity, Welfare, and Operations and Logistics. 2. You get to be a part of a family that will always have your back.
  3. Fun welfare events exclusively for CommIT members, such as our own orientation event, internal cooking event, talent event, photo-taking sessions, and sports event.
  4. Gain new experiences and skills such as how to function in a community and also gain life-long friends. A real chance to experience varsity life
  5. A chance to be part of the committee for our 3 flagship events (Cyberia, CharITeach, and Creation), which have proved to be very popular and rewarding among the NUS community. Testimonials#

Testimonial #1

Christian
  • Name: Christian Steven Jonathan
  • Current Role: co-Director
  • Past Role: Training Manager
  • Testimony: As part of the Training Team for two years, I found joy and satisfaction in teaching software to NUS students. As much as I enjoy teaching in workshops, commIT has provided me with so many opportunities to grow in other aspects as well, like the chance to work in publicity. I had so much fun working with multiple event committees while picking up new skills along the way. Most importantly, I met so many wonderful people, made new friends, and felt a sense of belonging in NUSSU commIT.

Testimonial #2:

Wilson
  • Name: Wilson Wongso
  • Past Role: Operations and Logistics Manager
  • Testimony: commIT is a place where I opened myself to non-Indonesians and also made a family with them. I started as a Welfare cell member and stepped up to be an Ops Director and along the way, I improved a lot in my communication skills, especially conversing in English. As an Ops director, I learnt to be more organised and accountable to others and myself as I helped organise training sessions for new members and improving NUS computer centres. I also made a lot of friends, not just Indonesians but also Singaporeans, Chinese, and even Malaysians! So come join commIT guys!
