About CCA#
Established in 2013, National University of Singapore Statistics Society ("NUS Statistics Society"​) is a student-initiated organisation under the Department of Statistics that provides a key platform for university students enthusiastic about statistics and data science to meet and make friends with like-minded peers, gain relevant organisational skills, and to expand their technical knowledge.
Why Should You Join?#
As the NUS Statistics Society organizes exciting projects and activities catering to students from a wide variety of backgrounds (e.g. Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Psychology, etc), you can expand your network to people who share similar interests with you and enrich your learning experience at NUS with individuals who can positively carry you in your studies and even in your future career.
Serving the society as a part of the ExCo also allows you to productively learn new things, improve relevant skill sets, enhance the well-being of your peers within the society, and many more. As a bonus, you might get the chance to enjoy guaranteed on-campus accommodation.
Activites/Events#
The NUS Statistics Society is committed to foster a community of students interested in the field of Statistics. We host relevant events ranging from Career Talks, Workshops, Senior Sharing Sessions, Industrial Visits and R Programming Competition; to bring the student body together and cultivate teamwork; and to support students in both their academic and future career endeavours.
Our biggest and major event, Data Science Competition is held annually with more than 300 participants and more than 11 reputable partners such as GovTech, Bloomberg, Google Cloud and many more.
